We lease the discussion board software from a company called Boardhost. They give the software for free if you let them post their banners (not only their own advertising but also the advertising they take from their customers). We are now paying Boardhost 113.98 USD per year so that they do not post any banners. Other websites are trying to get advertisement, we are paying to keep our site ad-free.
