I am very sorry for the delay in choosing a book for January. I hope we're still on time, as I have checked and my first choice is readily available: it is "The war of the end of the world", by the Peruvian (but now a Spanish citizen) Mario Vargas Llosa. He is one of my favorite Latin American authors, whose most recent book I thoroughly recommend, "The Feast of the Goat". Any comments are welcome. Greetings.

I've heard good things about him - good choice. The book is at my local library so I'm on board for January.

Great! I plan to go to visit Peru this summer, so it will be a good idea to read something by its most famous writer. I have just ordered the book and will probably not get unitl next year. I hope I will finish it in time to join the discussion.

Guillermo: Your choice looks interesting. I just read an excerpt of it on Amazon, so I will soon try to obtain a copy. Happy Holidays!
